Ceremony honors Douglas military academy nominees

District 13 U.S. Rep. David Scott, D-Jonesboro, is set to host a special ceremony Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at the National Archives Museum in Morrow to honor 23 student nominees for appointment to the nation’s military academies, including three from Douglas County.

The ceremony will feature the Chapel Hill High School Color Guard and guest speakers from the U.S. Air Force and Naval Academies.

Douglas County student nominees include USMA Prep School student James Curlee of Douglasville, U.S. Air Force Academy; Chapel Hill High School student Antoine Harraway of Douglasville, U.S. Naval Academy; and Arlington Christian Academy student Jennifer Nguyen of Douglasville, U.S. Naval Academy.
