David Fulmer will launch “The Fall,” the seventh novel by award-winning mystery author ,
The novel is a departure for the author, known for his evocative historicals. The new mystery is contemporary (as in 2002) and in first person.
“But there’s a major music angle,” her says. “With my books, that’s a given. In this case, a classic song launches the narrative.”
The story begins when New York actor Richard Zale learns that his childhood friend Joey Sesto has met a sudden death. When he returns to his hometown to pay his respects, he finds there are more than a few things wrong with what has been ruled an accident. He begins digging, and conjures ghosts from the past, both kind and malevolent, as the tale winds to a violent climax that reveals a vicious secret at the heart of his friend’s tragedy.
Beginning with the LA Times Book prize-nominated, Shamus Award winning, "Chasing the Devil's Tail," David Fulmer has released six novels with Poisoned Pen Press and Harcourt Books. He has also been nominated for a Barry Award, a Falcon Award, has won a Benjamin Franklin Award and an AudioFile Golden Earphones Award, and has had books placed on numerous “Best of” lists.
Most recently, “The Blue Door,” his fifth release, was nominated for the 2009 Shamus Award for Best Novel.
