Congregation Ner Tamid, a Reform Jewish congregation in west Cobb County, is celebrating its fifth High Holy Days this year.
Formed in May 2006 to serve Paulding, Douglas, west Cobb and Cherokee counties and surrounding areas, the congregation has grown steadily and now offers regularly scheduled Friday and Saturday Shabbat services, religious school serving more than 65 students, a B’nai Mitzvah program, and social groups for youth, teens, adults and the senior citizens.
“With the Jewish New Year around the corner, we welcome you to attend our services, enroll your children in our religious school and make Congregation Ner Tamid your spiritual home. I know you will like what you find. Becoming part of our young congregation will provide you with a network of friends, many of whom will soon feel like extended family,” said head Rabbi Tom Liebschutz, who has worked with the congregation since its inception.
The public is invited to join the congregation for the High Holy Days this year off Dallas Highway in Marietta. Tickets cost $72 per person to attend all services for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Ner Tamid’s community potluck breakfast. Childcare for ages 2 through 6 is available for a small additional fee.
Reservations are requested by today, Sept. 1, as only a limited number of tickets are available; tickets won’t be available at the door. Call to determine availability after Sept. 1.
High Holy Days begin with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, at 7 p.m. Sept. 8.
